4 Apple Philosophies That Brought Its Remarkable Success
Even though Steve Jobs is gone, his design and business philosophy remain with us, and influence Apple even today. Here are 4 of Apple's philosophies that it has embraced to produce its remarkable success.

"If today were the last day of your life, would you want to do what you are about to do today?", Steve Jobs.

We all know Steve Jobs as the legendary co-founder and eventual CEO of Apple. He has had a profound effect on the world of technology and created products that have substantially changed the world. Even though Jobs is gone, his design and business philosophy remain with us, and influence Apple even today. Here are 4 of Apple's philosophies that it has embraced to produce its remarkable success.

Empathy

One of Apple's philosophies is to create an intimate connection with the feelings of its customers. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, Apple released a COVID response statement detailing how they were doing their part, communicating with customers in an understanding tone, reflecting the sensitivity of the situation. It showed that they cared and wanted to provide solutions to their customers.

Focus on User Experience

When creating products, Jobs focused on creating universal sensations, experiences and values. When people purchase Apple products, they are not just buying a computer or a mobile phone, they are buying Apple's belief that people with passion can change the world and make it a better place. This was demonstrated during the social distancing period; Apple products became valuable tools for teachers to hold remote lesson, for companies to stay productive, and for medical experts to diagnose millions of patients.

Find an Enemy

Choosing a side is part of human behavior so Apple makes it clear who the enemy is, setting them as the standard to overcome by simply making a better product. For Jobs’, the crucial part of development was the aesthetics, originality and that the designs represented Apple.

Be the Best, Not the First

Apple was not the first to invent the MP3 player, smartphone or computer. However, they took the same technology and improved the design, navigability, packaging and distribution channels. And with that they eventually managed to achieve better design, size, packaging and in fact, overall quality.
