Punnawithi facelifted to be Bangkok CyberTech District

The National Innovation Agency (NIA), in collaboration with True Digital Park and other public and private partners, has named Punnawithi as Bangkok CyberTech​ District​. It will be a model for Thailand's digital district, featuring the most complete startup ecosystem in Southeast Asia. It is equipped with facilities that support the creativities of digital and tech enthusiasts.

In addition, the heart of the Bangkok CyberTech District is an interconnected ecosystem for government, private agencies, universities, startups and the world's leading technology companies together in an area of over 200,000 sq.m. connected to Punnawithi BTS Station in the name of True Digital Park, Southeast Asia's largest tech and startup hub. This large facility houses co-working spaces, event spaces, and private office spaces for Thai and foreign entrepreneurs to share their work, knowledge and have a multitude of networking opportunities. 

Bangkok CyberTech District is a great opportunity for Thailand to drive and incubate young startups to the international level and drive Thailand’s targeted industries with the cooperation of many sectors. Moreover, this area offers easy access for entrepreneurs to technical specialists, opportunities in the field of digital and innovation, technological knowledge and funding.

To get things into action, True Digital Park and NIA have launched a new project called “Bangkok CyberTech District Sandbox”  to give startups the opportunity to test their products with users before entering the market.

Bangkok CyberTech District Sandbox is a project that will help jump-start Thai startups to test their technology, providing opportunities and funding to help them develop the potential products/services in order to continue to grow in the future.

Qualifications

• Startup or entrepreneur with early-stage products or services that have not received any funding or have been funded in seed round but no more than Series A level
• Businesses must have an MVP (Minimal Viable Product) that can be used to test the market, such as websites, platforms, applications, or products
• A business that enriches society using digital innovation technology
• A company that is registered in Thailand and can participate in activities designated by the project for the duration of the project, such as workshops, business plan reporting, mentor consultation and evaluation
• You must have at least 3 members in a team

You will get

• The 2 selected teams could receive 150,000 baht in funding to test products on the market with real users in Bangkok CyberTech​ District​ 
• Access to users’ data in Bangkok CyberTech​ District​ 
• Office space in True Digital Park during participating period
• Consultation and advice from experts who are specialized in a wide range of industries through workshops and mentorship sessions

Pitching day and 2 finalist teams announcement will be on July 23rd, 2021
